HEATING MAT FOR DIRECT UNDERFLOOR HEATING
Electric heating with a heating mat is an ideal way to warm the floor in any room finished with ceramic tiles, terracotta, stoneware or marble. The heating mat has a constant power of 150 W/m2 which guarantees that the set floor temperature is achieved quickly.
APPLICATION OF HEATING MATS
Electric heating mats can be used as the basic heating of bathrooms or as an installation for reheating the room, obtaining the comfort of a warm floor. VISUALISATION OF THE HEATING MAT INSTALLATION IN A DIRECT UNDERFLOOR HEATING SYSTEM
Heating mats are installed on the subfloor by immersing it in a flexible adhesive for underfloor heating, then a top layer of ceramic tiles is made.
The use of heating mats for underfloor heating is an easy-to-install solution, which does not raise the floor level.
FAQ
The higher rated power results in a shorter time needed to reach the set floor temperature.
The heating mat must not be shortened (cutting the heating cable is prohibited). The heating cable is attached to a grid which can be cut through so that we can adjust the mat to the dimensions of the room.
It is forbidden to overlay or cross the heating mat. In any case, the distance between the cables must be at least 8 cm.
It is forbidden to install heating mats under a bath/shower base.
No, special care must be taken during installation not to damage the heating cable.
The heating mat must be connected by an electrician with a valid license.
No, heating mats are not installed under permanent fixtures or under legless furniture. The furniture must have legs of at least 3 cm height.
No, heating films are installed under the panels.
For fixing of ceramics it is required to use a flexible adhesive for underfloor heating.
Use an elastic joint for grouting.
The heating wire resistance and insulation resistance should be measured.
The electrician who installed the heating must check the cause of malfunction. This could be a failure of the thermostat, damage to power cables or damage to the heating mat.
